First and foremost you must learn first how the game of Texas holdem poker is played. You must learn of poker hands and how it can significantly help you win the pot. You must understand how the betting rounds are made and when it should be done. And you must familiarize yourself with the rules that govern the game.
The first strategy would be to play only the best Texas holdem poker hands. These hands are A-A, K-K, Q-Q, J-J, 10-10, 9-9, 8-8, A-Ks, A-Qs and K-Qs. You must limit yourself with these hands, if you're dealt any card outside of this hand then fold. The goal is to have you win money. The best way to do that is to win as much as possible on the hands that you have a chance to win and to minimize your losses on hands where you have little or no chance to win.
On the flop if you feel that you have a good chance of winning, then raise. But if you feel that your hand did improve then don't hesitate to fold. Playing in the turn and the river is somewhat the same. If the cards are dealt and there is no improvement in your hand then fold.
In Texas holdem don't play scared, because scared players are losing players. You should bluff a bit to get people to fold. The key here is sensing weakness. If one player bets and other raises, you probably should not re-raise bluff; they're not both going to fold. Also, the bigger the pot, the less likely people are to fold, and people are more likely to fold to the bigger turn/river bets than the small flop bet.
